More DetailsMr. Frank Muramuzi, Executive Director and Founding member of (NAPE), is active in many organizations including Chairperson of East African Communities Organizations for the Management of Lake Victoria Resources (ECOVIC), Uganda Chapter, Board Member of Uganda Coalition for Sustainable Development (UCSD), Founding member of African Rivers Network (ARN) and current Chairperson, Member of Dams and Development Forum (DDP) of UNEP, Nairobi.
Mr. Muramuzi has led efforts to save the Mabira Forest, advocated for people affected by the Bujagli dam, spearheaded efforts to promote alternative energy in Uganda and East Africa, and fought to protect the environment and communities from big development projects.
Mr. Rajabu Bwengye Yusufu is the Senior Programmes Manager at NAPE in charge of overall Programmes coordination. He also acts as the Focal Officer for oil governance, the Sustainability School & NAPE’s Community Green Radio.
Rajab also is the contact person for NAPE on the Oil Watch Africa Network Steering Committee.
Mr. David Kureeba is the officer in charge of Forests and Biodiversity and also oversees compaigns on energy, climate change and independent forests monitoring. He also oversees the NAPE advocacy docket on compaigns against hazardous chemicals both in manufacturing industries, gold mining, agriculture and consumer products. He also analyzes the United Nations program Reducing Emissions from Deforestation and forest Degradation(REDD) and is also in charge of the community ecological governance program at NAPE
Ms. Shiba Ainomugisha is the officer in charge of legal affairs, Gender mainstreaming and projects Monitoring and Evaluation at NAPE. She also supports the organization’s research and currently oversees the project “Nurturing the culture of peace and tolerance” being implemented by NAPE in the karamoja and kasese sub regions of Uganda. She also provides technical support to NAPE local partners/CBOs operating in various parts of the country.
Mr. Gregory Bakunda is the Finance Officer at NAPE. Gregory is in-charge of financial records and book keeping, reviews monthly Bank reconciliations and all payment requisitions in order to certify correctness and ensure that all appropriate supporting accountability documents have been provided.
He also monitors expenditures in line with organizational budgets and in coordination with the project officers, to initiate follow up action in instances where budget lines have been exceeded. Gregory also supervises and coordinates the development and implementation of organization’s financial policies, rules, regulations and makes sure that every staff adheres to them. He is also the chief supervisor for the NAPE finance team and also oversees proper running of the NAPE quickbooks accounting system in the finance department
Ms. Catherine Kamara is the accountant. She reconciles the ledger, posts transactions to the ledger, maintains the asset register, keeps track of tax withholding and national social security fund (NSSF) transfers and other taxes, prepares documents for audits and management reviews. She’s also the officer in charge of field project accountabilities and budget harmonization. She’s also keen in women rights advocacy work and supports NAPE’s women led community groups/partners in various disciplines related to financial literacy and accountability.
Ms. Ruth Kemigisha is the Accounts Assistant at NAPE. She assists the Finance Officer and the Accountant in tracking revenue and expenditures for the Community Green Radio, reconciliations of all Radio Accounts and also maintenance of the Asset Registers of NAPE and the Community Green Radio.
Betty Ninsiima is the officer in charge of administration, eco-feminist movement strengthening and community support. She is responsible for the smooth running of the NAPE office and foresees the development, capacity building and mobilization of the NAPE led grassroots women movement. She also manages office records, plays communication roles and produces minutes of the NAPE Board and Board committees in addition to organizing internal meetings.
Ms. Claire Namugumya, is the office attendant at NAPE, is responsible for keeping the NAPE office and assisting in the administrative roles of the institution. She’s also active in women mobilization programs of NAPE.
Mr. Opio Godfrey is the technical officer handling information technology systems, updates, software and networking configurations at NAPE. He also repairs, maintains and services ICT devices including updates for websites at both the NAPE head office and Community Green Radio Station.
Mr. Omony Polycarp is the officer at NAPE in charge of information technology and communication. He’s also the officer coordinating the development and publication of NAPE’s monthly Newsletter and also managing contents of the NAPE website, Community Green Radio and other social media accounts.
Ms. Adrine Twongyeirwe is the assistant Information and Communication Officer supporting the Community Green Radio field team in information gathering, editing and programming.
Mr. Julius Kyamanywa is the Station Manager of the NAPE led Community Green Radio (CGR). He is in-charge of overall radio programming and coordinates the mobilization, relationship building, radio coverage and community participation roles at the station. The CGR is located in Kiboga and covers more than fourteen districts of the Albertine oil region.
Ms. Precious Naturinda is the senior News Editor at the Community Green Radio. Precious generates original ideas and approaches to the way news stories are covered. She also reviews all news and radio programme output. In addition, she is the officer in charge of field mobilization for the NAPE led grassroots women movement and also supports the NAPE gender mainstreaming programs.
